Quantum 10 2021 International Conference

“To go beyond talk about equity in education, we must examine our practice to see what systemic structures and barriers continue to marginalize Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC), eliminate those barriers, provide support, call out bias, marginalization, and racism and move to action, which will in turn support all learners.”

Dr. Talisa Sullivan

The Q10 2021 conference expanded upon the understanding of the Q10 framework, theories, and practices, and moved ‘beyond talk’ about equity in education. Participants strived to transform practice by taking an action-oriented approach to intentionally integrate the elements of the Q10 framework. The Q10 conference provided tools to advance knowledge of the elements of the framework to systematically sustain equity in our learning communities.

International Conference Recap

The Q10 conference started each day and keynote address with live music by the amazing DJ Swiff of Elite Pro Entertainment. We were fortunate to have nine amazing keynote speakers over three engaging days of professional learning.

Day one of the conference began with Dr. Douglas Reeves, the founder of Creative Leadership Solutions. He kicked off the Q10 Conference addressing Equity and Excellence Now. As the Creator of the Q10 Equity Framework, CEO, and founder of Transformational Leadership Consulting “TLC” Services, I had the pleasure of serving as the second keynote speaker for the conference. Participants were taken on a Q10 journey to Experience the Elements, Engage the Core, and Explore the Continuum. Day one ended with Dr. Sharroky Hollie, Executive Director of The Center for Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning. He enlightened us with his keynote address, Cultural and Linguistic Responsiveness is What You are, Not What You Do.

On day two, my amazing friend and colleague, Dr. Katie Novak from Novak Educational Consulting engaged the conference participants in an interactive keynote address on UDL for Equity and Inclusion. The second keynote address was Dr. John Craig, Director of the Academic Success Program at West Chester University in West Chester, PA who addressed Implementing Elements of Quantum 10 in a Special Admissions Program.

Dr. Delores Lindsey, one of the founders of The Center for Culturally Responsive Educational Practices, was the final keynote for day two. She and her colleagues, Dr. Angela Clark Louque and Dr. Peter Flores III, engaged in a panel conversation around Creating & Sustaining A Culturally Proficient Educational Environment for All Students.

Our final day of professional learning started with an informative keynote address from one of the Inland Empire’s most inspirational educators, Dr. Judy D. White, former Superintendent of the Riverside County Office of Education and MOSAIC Founder and President. Dr. White spoke so eloquently and captivated the interest of participants by Addressing Symptoms of Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria Through the Integration of Quantum 10. Novak Educational Consulting was a major presence at the conference as Lisa Bosio and Dr. Katie Novak presented together on Empowering Teachers to Invest in the Whole Child with UDL, and SEL. Our final keynote for the Q10 2020 Conference was the Executive Coach from the CEO Institute, Dr. Karen McBride. Dr. McBride charmed participants in her motivational keynote address, Renew and Refresh – An Emotional Intelligence Reset. This was a great segway into 2021.

In addition to nine amazing keynotes, we had a host of passionate breakout session speakers throughout the three days. If you registered for the 2020 Q10 Conference but could not attend, you can still go back and catch many of the recordings on Canvas.

Conference Testimonials

I learned so much over the last 3 days! The speakers were so knowledgeable in their practice and did an amazing job of engaging and igniting learning! Looking forward to next year already!

A truly engaging and enjoyable conference to attend! Enthusiasm and passion from presenters and the Q10 team were exceptional. Cannot wait for next year!

Best conference I ever attended. So good that I wouldn’t call it a conference. It was truly a learning community.

Beginning with the brilliant vision of Quantum 10, this conference provided amazing insights into the inter-connectedness between the “spokes” of education – highlighting the barriers and the solutions to enable all students to succeed as learners!

Thank you so much! I thoroughly enjoyed learning and exploring new ways to help my students! Every session that I attended supported my core belief that EVERY child is unique and is able to learn in their own time with continued support and connection!

A truly engaging and enjoyable conference to attend! Enthusiasm and passion from presenters and the Q10 team were exceptional. Cannot wait for next year!
