Connecting Inclusive Practices
Too often, inclusive practices are seen as competing initiatives. Districts may focus on Universal Design for Learning (UDL), social-emotional learning, trauma-informed instruction, culturally responsive pedagogy, and differentiated instruction. If educators see these are separate initiatives, they are right to feel overwhelmed. In this session, learn how to share that these practices all fall under the umbrella of inclusive practice which ensures first, best instruction for all learners.

Pressing For The Win: Making A Play For Equity
In the game of football, pressing is a defensive coverage that takes place when pressure is applied on the player or the team that’s in possession. Educationally speaking, making a play for equity means we must apply a P.R.E.S.S to disrupt the status quo and create a system where support is normalized and equitable outcomes are achieved. In this session participants will: Have an opportunity to collaborate around UDL principles, Use the game of football as a method to guide information processing and visualization, Review tools to support planning and strategy development, and Decide which play to “run” at the conclusion of the session.

Culture of Care: The Magnitude of Mindset
Culture is not a position or stance; it is a lived experience. Dr. Karen Semien-McBride is one of the most sought-after executive coaches in the education sector and has over 25 years in higher education administration leadership. She puts theory to practice by overlapping psychology theory and business acumen as a way of conceptualizing how leaders execute decision-making, strategy, human interaction, operational styles, emotional intelligence, and mindset shifts. She created the formula for professional growth and advancement strategy and will lead us down a path of shifting mindsets to a Growth Mindset and challenging us to see all the opportunities and reduce the idea of limits or limitations on what we can do in creating a “culture of care” in our organizations.
